Feels like the sound shot of alcohol is igniting the mouth. In reality the tongue and palate are warmed. The taste is characterized by its roundness. The aftertaste is strong, long-lasting and dry bitter.

- Description: Het Anker Brewery still brews "The Emperor’s Beer" which is top-fermented and bottle conditioned following traditional methods. Its high gravity (O.G. 1080-85) combines the warmth of wine and the freshness of beer. Gouden Carolus is one of the strongest and most exciting beers in the world.

- Description: Golden, with a not too big white head that lasts more than expected. The aroma is sweet and fruity, softer than other belgian ales, but quite pleaseant. The taste is fruity, with orange peel and some alcohol, and the aftertaste is dry, with some pleaseant peach. Quite tasty but refreshing as well.

"Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as ’Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable’."

Its old fashioned brewing process from malt and hops finely selected gives it a strong, tasty and vigorous character. Delicious fragrance of fresh yeast outlined by scents of fruit. Light bitterness with a touch of caramel and roasted malt. Smooth beer with strong personality yet in harmonious balance.
